Just watched the Ft. Hood Memorial.
It was very pretty.

Those 13 people I hope we never forget. These were individuals, two immigrants, one a teenager, one a civilian physician...but all were volunteers getting ready, or returning from a common role: to protect our freedoms.

I still want to join the Military, ever since fifth grade, to fulfill that role. Not just for me or my family and friends, but for the strangers I'll never know. To be a soldier and to die on American soil...let it not be a tragedy, for some day in the future, there may be a battle on American soil. The last battle on American soil was WWII in Alaska...and our volunteers, these soldiers, volunteered to keep such an event from happening again.

The attack was one from a political motive, and I take that as a terrorist attack. Terrorism is not just a group, it can be one person with one gun with one motive. Terrorism is used to get points across, start wars and even end wars; in fact, most wars were ended by some form of terrorism. Terrorism has been used to deter wars from starting way before the Roman Empire, where they would crucify criminals to show anyone what will happen if you do not obey.

This gunner was saying something in the most absurd way. Part of me is glad he is alive and captured, and I want to see justice. Another part of me thinks he should just be shot on the spot...
I rather see justice.

Also in six hours, John Muhammad, the oldest of the D.C. snipers, is going to be executed.
The teenager still has no possibility of parole....

It doesn't feel like that act of terror was seven years ago...feels like such a long time ago...
I hope the families of the victims in the attack find a conclusion to such an awful loss...of both the D.C. Snipers and the Ft. Hood attack.
